Abstract

This paper presents the design of high isolation dual-band MIMO antenna for WLAN 2.45GHz and 5.25 GHz applications. The proposed antenna is printed on a FR4 substrate with the thickness of 1.6 mm and a dielectric constant of 4.4. In order to improve port isolation of the antenna, a simple transmission line structure which acts as a planar decoupling network, is designed to operate at both frequency bands of 2.45 GHz and 5.25 GHz. As a result, the mutual coupling is reduced with an isolation value of -20 dB over the two operating bands. Moreover, the proposed antenna shows a low envelop correlation coefficient (ECC), which is below 0.03 over the operating bands. A good agreement between simulation and measurement is shown in this context.
