This paper presents a PID controller for DC-link voltage in the single-phase switched boost inverter. Unlike the DC-link voltage controller in the Z-source inverter, the presented controller in the switched boost inverter can be directly controlled via the capacitor voltage. By using this controller, a constant capacitor voltage can be achieved when the input voltage or the load are changed suddenly. The proposed technique was verified on a 200-W prototype. Simulation and experimental results are shown to verify the validity of the proposed control strategy
