Application of TCSC to Enhance the Operational Efficiency of Power Market ☆

In the recent year, market models developed as a result of the restructuring of electric power systems around the world. The requirements to ensure the power system security and to ensure the power market economy is always interested in research. Therefore, this paper studies the optimal installation location for TCSC in power market to reduce congestion at the branches and to enhance the welfare of power market. The research and application of TCSC to meet the above requirements, which bring a lot of meaningful. PowerWorld 13 simulator are chosen to build up the calculation program, the test model is based on data of 39-bus IEEE power system (New England).
