SBA-15 hard templates have been synthesized from pure chemicals at different stirring regimes (2, 6, 10 minutes) and hydrothermal temperatures (80, 100, 120 oC). From various SBA-15 templates, ordered mesoporous carbon CMK-3 have been prepared using incipient wetness impregnation technique with sucrose as carbon source and following by carbonization and template etching processes. The obtained results of SEM, TEM, XRD and BET analyses showed that the sysnthesized CMK-3 materials possessed ordered mesoporous structure and exist amorphous phase. The CMK-3 materials had the morphology of short nanorods with a size of 800 nm, which is analogous with that of the SBA-15 templates. The measured cyclic voltammetry plots reveal that the best excellent electrochemical feature for supercapacitor application can be achieved for the CMK-3 material prepared from the SBA-15 template sysnthesized at a hydrothermal temperature of 100 oC.
